PJSC RusHydro and RAO Energy Systems of the East completed the construction of the Stage 1 of Phase 2 of Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP with the integrated testing done of the key engineering equipment and systems. As part of the testing, the new facilities, specifically: steam generating unit, steam turbine and the generator unit have undergone the reliability run and have been continuously running for 72 hours. 

Before the integrated testing, the core systems and equipment concerned had been tested as separate units and had been put into the trial operating mode. On December 10, the first trial run of the pulverized coal-fired boiler was successfully completed using the liquid fuel (fuel oil). The steam generating unit had been running in the startup mode with the 30% heat output load for 45 consecutive hours. The approval has been issued by Rostekhnadzor authorizing the equipment to be connected to the 110kV outdoor switchgear. December 25 was the first day when the power from the new power generating unit was transmitted to the grid and the turbine generating unit operation was synchronized with the overall power system.
